Whats a good older laptop? 2000-2003 Lighter Weight.

I recently bought a decent notebook computer. good bang for buck. But im straying away from Xbox 360′s and am into PC gaming. I plan on selling my current laptop to help buy a powerful Desktop. I still like laptops more (i love mobility), but they are 2-3x more expensive for gaming power. Anywho i know some who has a Dell Inspiron 8200 (2002 i think was the year) that isnt running well (i think it just needs a reboot) for 0.
I just wanted input if thats a good deal if i get it running (i havent seen it yet).
Whether it is or not. What are some nicer older laptop computers that i could nab for 0-0. I want something lightweight. Around 6lbs. I just need a mobile pc for basic Word documents, Small Web usage, etc etc. No media usage like games, youtube, myspace etc.
Unless someone else disagrees, is Windows ME fine? to save a few bucks and it’ll run smoother (i think) than XP with a computer with weak hardware.

First they are junk. Especially trying to run Vista.

I think the Dell Latitude C600 is a GREAT option. It has a 20 GB hard drive (almost always), 256 MB of RAM, Pentium 3 processor, CD-ROM drive, a USB port, a 14.1" screen, and it has really good sound too. You can put a wireless card in the side for wireless Internet, and the keyboard has a great feel! The system is pretty light, probably around 6 pounds or less. It has a touchpad and a pointing stick. Not common anymore to have a pointing stick! Yes, it can run Windows XP also. And if you need to upgrade your hard drive or your RAM, it’s very easy. I recommend you look on eBay for things like that though. I found a 40 GB hard drive for this model for only $30! This laptop is from 2001. Hope this helps!
I would not waste money on an older laptop when you can get an Acer for around 400.00 and Windows ME is the worst OS out there. it was a toral MS disaster.
