Notebooks (netbooks) with new atom chip question?

the netbooks will only have 512mb physical space (not gigs) and i believe that the ram will be 3gb or so. doesn’t vista run on 1gb of physical memory? i don’t undersand how these netbooks work
i'm refering to the Acer netbooks
