I recently bought a netbook which is CRAP and I just want to buy a computer that isn’t going to be slow, and isn’t going to be obsolete junk in 3 months. I only play casual games but sometimes when I surf the internet I like to have TONS of windows open. Thanks for any help :)

I recently purchased an HP Mini netbook, and I have found out that I don’t have enough space to put all of my music on it. If I purchased a HP 4GB Mini Mobile Drive, will I be able to place the music on it and it still be available on my computer twenty four hours a day, seven days a week if I leave in placed into my computer? I would be using Itunes. I was also wondering just how the mini drive works?

A desktop or a laptop?

My computer is getting old. One of these days, I’m going to have to replace it.

However, I’m unsure as to wheather or not I should get another desktop or a laptop.

The one I have now is a desktop. I also have a netbook, but it could never be my only computer because it just doesn’t have the memory or capabilty I need.

I live in a one room, so a laptop would definatly take up less space and I could also use it in my favorite chair.

However, I do a lot of typing, some graphics, and printing. I like the control a mouse gives me, and I like my split keyboard and large monitor too.

What are the advantages of laptop vs desktop?

It’s a long story, but ends like this: My mom has acquired a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook, half paid for (0 or so), and I have the decision to either 1.) Graciously accept her paying off the rest of the money and letting me keep it, or 2.) Take it back and do some serious research to find an actual notebook for less than 0.

So, here’s the situation… I’ve been hogging my mom’s Toshiba Satellite (of some variety) that she uses for work, and it seems like a quality computer, but it’s the only notebook I’ve ever used so what do I know. Anyways. She needs her laptop back for actual work, lol, so she gave me this ultimatum mentioned above. I’ve been tooling around on the tiny Inspiron for a couple of days, and I do enjoy it… but I’m trying to think about the future. I’m going into my senior year of high school next month, and I plan on going to college, which means I’ll eventually need a laptop that can handle a bigger workload. The Mini is lightweight and has excellent portability (I travel a lot), but the screen definitely cannot handle much. I do have a desktop that I use to run Photoshop and work with my photography (also to burn CDs), so it’s not CRUCIAL my notebook is capable of this, but let’s face it… I would much prefer being able to do everything from the comfort of a recliner over a back-hurting computer desk. :) I hate the little "multi-touch pad" or whatever it is, lol, but that’s beside the point. I really do like the computer, and it’s cost-efficient.

I guess the main point is… should I keep the Mini, which is portable and efficient, or should I save up some money for a more powerful computer with a larger screen (+better resolution)? Keep in mind that my financial situation is TERRIBLE right now… I really don’t have many options over 0 for a while.

I apologize for the loooong question. Any answers are greatly appreciated. :)

I am looking for a netbook, this one seems to tick all boxes, it looks nice (white) its a quality product and for a netbook it has a fast processor. However, it only has 1gb of ram, although as it is running on XP rather than W7 or Vista so it doesn’t need as much, 1gb may cause a slight issue running some of the programs that i require. i.e dreamweaver and Microsoft acess. I have built my own desktop computer so i have some experience with electronics, will i be able to upgrade the ram modual to 2gb?

Will i be able to upgrade the battery, the standard is only 3hrs max?
