and the memory is extremly low
im getting a new one soon but thats in almost 3 weeks

MY COMPUTER DOES NOT HAVE A PLACE FOR A CD and im NOT GOING TO buy one for it ! they are 0

I have a Sony Vaio (VGN NS105N) laptop with 15" screen. No built in webcam. Business model? Kind of heavy, not exactly travel size.

I have the option of switching to a smaller HP Notebook (10" screen?) with built in cam and SD card and memory card slots but no CD drive. Nice and light.

Basically I want to know which is going to be the most useful and practical for college. Realistically, how much am i going to need to carry it around, what features will i end up using most? If you had to choose one, knowing what you know about college/computers, which would you choose?

It’s an error message for a program that didn’t install properly, I have since removed the program, but the message still comes up at start up. Would this have something to do with the registry? My computer is a HP Mini Notebook, with a Windows 7 Starter OS.

These are things I would use it for:

School work (I’m currently a senior in high school, so that means I’ll be going to college pretty soon)
Web browsing
Store/download/play music (Limewire + iTunes)
Store my photos
LIGHT graphics editing
LIGHT gaming (Maplestory)

I went on the HP website and customized and ideal computer; this is what I put together–

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

Processor: Intel(R) Atom(TM) Processor N280 (1.66GHz, 512KB L2, 667Mhz FSB)

Memory: 3GB DDR3 System Memory (1 Dimm)

Hard Drive: 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

Graphics Card: NVIDIA ION with a 5-in-1 Digital Media slot (For the N280 processor)

I know netbooks are meant to be secondary computers, but do you or do you not think those features can handle the things I would use it for?

It adds up to about 0 bucks. I can’t tell if it’s be worth it or not, I really don’t know much about computers.

Maybe you could tell me if I’m better off getting a notebook instead. Maybe you can recommend some around the same price with the same specs?

I have a desktop computer (hp pavilion a1213w) and it will not turn on.
Every time i hit the on button the hard drive (not the monitor) would beep a few times, then just stop.
This happened several times.
Now it wont even do that. It just doesn’t respond. The monitor will turn on when i plug in the computer and say something like ‘preparing to sleep’.

The on button no longer lights up when i turn it on, however a small light green in the back turns on every time i press the on button.
The night before this happen i did download a movie, but then stayed on the computer for awhile and it worked perfectly. I then proceeded to shut it off and this happened.

What does this mean and what can i do to fix it?

(im also not sure if it was the movie- i have a friend who downloaded the same movie from the same place and nothing happened to her computer)

I have a HP notebook and recently had a virus on my computer. I do want to know how to erase windows completely then reinstall everything on my computer. My computer does not have a cd drive seeing as how its one of those mini laptops. PLEASE HELP!!!

So, my wife and I just bought a brand new HP Desktop computer. It is a 500 gig hard drive with a quad core processor, I believe 1.8 ghz. It has 6 gigs of ram.

Anyway, when we watch a video (be it a CTV news story, TSN hockey highlights, etc.) the video players will only allow us to view them in the small screen version. When we click the expand/full screen buttons, the computer will simply take an image of the video and play the audio – no video.

Is this a setting? Anyone know how to fix this?

I like to play 128MB RAM games!! I like to go for the extreme. && while I’m playing them I enjoy playing a small window of an episode of Degrassi. Or listen to itunes.

I like to store movies, pictures, music, almost anything that takes up space!! So I need a lot!!

I enjoy working with Photoshop and playing the Sims which both use up a lot of RAM.
