I have one of those ACER mini note book computers (those really small notebooks). It’s XP. I bought an external DVD burner because it didn’t have one. Could I buy a Windows 7 upgrade disk and upgrade this computer from XP to 7? I don’t know what the specs are on this computer so I would have to check that too to see if Windows 7 is compatible with it. I am asking this because I heard that Dell requires you to have disks from Dell to wipe out and recover your computer, although I don’t know if that is true or not. And I wasn’t sure if ACER was like that or not. I don’t want to buy the upgrade disk from the store and not be able to use it.

i have dell vostro 1510 built-in bluetooth and it works perfectly,but there is a small problem which no phone or other notebooks can find my laptop,i enable the option "Allow Bluetooth devices find this computer" but still ……. is there another option for it or plz whats the problem…..

Ok so I am about to buy a dell mini notebook and I asked the guy does it have wireless internet capability? Like a wireless card built in? most of the new models have the card inside, he goes No it does not you will need a router or to get Wi Fi. But don’t u need to have a wireless card to get Wi Fi anyways? Then on the website the description read that the computer had a 802.11 mini card, isn’t hat a wireless card? Now im confused
I already have a wireless router and with my internet company Wi Fi is only if I am outside the house not inside.

i found a desktop on dell under small business that i like. it is 2.2ghz intel core2duo, 2gb ram, 1000gb hdd, ati radeon 2600XT HD graphics and it runs on windows vista home premium.. (no monitor but i alredy have a monitor at home) and it costs £294.00.
q1.is this computer any good?
q2. will any monitor be compatible with it?
q3. what diference will it make with me buying it in the small business section rather than the home section?

My dad is starting a small business and needs help with buying computers. Which dell model should He consider.. they are jus so many to choose from. Hes looking to have 3 computers and a server.. but i suggested that he can just use another computer as the server. What is the ideal specs in this day and age for a server computer?

my friend has 3 dell mini notebooks and two of them wont work at all like they go to the blue screen and no i dont know what error message it gives me. and the third one works but is slow. i want to reformat the hard drives and i have successfully done it on two other computers but i can not figure out how to do this on the dell mini computers because when i start the computer i cant press f11 or f8 wont do anything and all the options i have are to press 0 or 2 and one is settings i think and the other is boot options and i do have a external cd drive with a reinstallation cd. if anyone can help me out or that has done it before i would greatly appreciate it. and when i go through my computer and go to manage and storage i cant delete the OP ive been trying this all day and nothing is working please help and that is all the information i can give you off the top of my head right now.

I work in a small 2-person office and need to backup my desktop computer as well as my boss’s Dell Inspirion laptop computer. Using the program mentioned above – when I backup files do I save them on discs? We don’t have any tape backup drives or sticks (usb flash drives). Thanks!

I have run into a small problem.. No we have not traded YET. but
I like my desktop computer because it runs smoothly and has upgraded memory with a decent graphics card.

Thing is.. I have become a college student, therefore a laptop has become a utility of great value because I do not have to come back to my desktop every time I need to look something up or type a paper.

Now my question..
Would it be ideal for me to trade my nice desktop for my sisters FUJITSU brand laptop with a
PENTIUM 4 CPU 3.20GHz 1.00 GB RAM
She also has windows xp on the laptop but I plan to upgrade it to vista like I have on this desktop.

Here are my desktop specs::

PENTIUM D 2.80 GHz 2.00 GB RAM

I commute to a University 45min every other day. I need something lightweight. Good battery life. Able to store my music, papers, and photos. I DO NOT want a mini notebook.
I have an HP but am looking for a Dell (I think). I do not like Apple/ Mac.
