I’ve asked this question on here like twice, and no one has ever helped me.
I can’t access the power settings on my laptop — an Acer Aspire 3690. I right click the desktop and go to properties, then go to screen saver and click power. Immediately, a little box flashes in the lower left hand corner of my screen but then disappears.
It’s there for maybe 2 tenths of a second. I’ve also tried accessing power options from folder files and from the control panel, but the same thing keeps happening. I’d like to set my preferenes (screen saver after XX minutes, hard drives off after XX minutes, etc.) before selling my laptop.
It’s very annoying because my screen will go blank after about 2 minutes. It’s just irritating to always have to "wake it up".
I can’t find the start up disks and there’s nothing on the Acer Web site (I tried one thing and it didn’t work)
What can I do to keep my laptop from shuting off?
Also, I heard about some forum where others use a VNC and fix things…?
Does anyone know the name of that forum? I wouldn’t mind someone smarter than me taking control of my laptop and fixing it for me online.
Or is there something I can set on top of my keys or mousepad to keep it from turning off? I’ve tried a couple things (pens, coins, etc.) but nothing will work.
.
I’ve tried going into the control panel, that doesn’t work
