My new Acer Aspire with Windows xp (mini laptop or notebook) makes popping sound?
I’ve had nothing but great things to say about this new Acer Aspire with an 8.9 " screen. BUT yesterday it started to act a little weird; it made a whir sort of sound and at first I thought it was the fan table under it, but after I unplugged it to turn the fan off, the sound was coming directly from my computer. Now today it crashed once and sent a report to microsoft about some new hardware needing updated, but I have nothing attached except an internet PC card from verizon. Right now as I am writing, with the speakers muted, I hear a ‘pop’ every few minutes. Sort of like if you were to take a pencil and tap it once on your desk or like an ice cube that is melting and it pops/cracks, that kind of dull muffled pop, inside of the laptop… I’ve never heard this before and wondered if anyone else may have experienced this or should I just take it to an expert…
Thanks in advance for any assistance y’all!

I assume thats a Netbook. If so, they don’t have many moving parts, so it could be the cooling fan is sticking. I’d call Acer and hope for a good tech person to assist.
