How different is a Mac Book to a Mini Netbook?

I've used apple all my life and only use pc in school. My dad is thinking about getting me a mini netbook but they only come in pc. I'm worried about how different they are. Does anyone have any bad experiences or complaints? Also are they hard to get use to?
