Desktop Vs Laptop Vid Card-NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE Vs Intel GMA X3100? Which is better?
I understand that the GeForce is used in a desktop and the Intel is used in a laptop. I just wanna know if I should buy a HP Slimline. Eg: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10100335&catid=26198
Or a 17in Laptop

I play wolfteam occasionally, I don’t want my computer to get really hot. Which one is better? I use it mostly for work and internet surfing.
Thanks

Get the laptop if you want a laptop.
It’s cheaper to build a gaming desktop than buy that crappy one.
Well, I owned the 6150SE, and it’s such a dog that older Linux open source video games with engines based on Quake I and Quake II underpinnings were sometimes choppy on it. No, seriously. The shocking thing is that despite being the far newer solution, benchmarks actually peg the X3100 as being either a nudge slower, or a bit faster. It wasn’t made for games, and most just realize they play too poorly on the X3100 for it to be fun. Both will run really slow, and if Wolfteam doesn’t use much, it might work alright.
If you care at *all* about gaming, avoid slimlines. Thery rarely have space for optional video boards and often have proprietary power supplies that would hobble upgrading anyway. While the HP’s 6150 may be tolerable now, I guarantee it won’t a few years from now when you move on and want to play a newer game when work’s slow.
