Computer's falling apart – Should I get something new?
I have an Dell Laptop – Inspiron 2200 Notebook.
When I closed it (Screen shut and all) I see that a small chunk of the plastic has broken off of the top right-hand corner. It didn’t seem to affect anything, so I ignored it. Tonight, the area surrounding the power button and the lights near it wants to pop out completely, and it makes the keyboard unlevel. The laptop has also been getting VERY hot VERY quickly, to the point where touching the keys could hurt your fingers slightly.
Is it time to consider something new?

Could be the fan is going/gone and it sounds like you have physical damage to the laptop, may be time for a new laptop or take it to tech shop (so expensive, you may as well get a new laptop.)
Probably, it would cost more to fix than get a new one. 1 suggestion though don’t get Vista as the OS there are still alot of program incompatabilities issues
Wow. That’s not good. I’d contact Dell first about that, see if they can fix/replace it if it’s still under warranty.
If they’re going to charge you a crap load to fix it, just get something new.
When your computer gets so hot that it’s painful to tyype, then yes it’s a pretty safe bet to say that you should upgrade. Laptops are the newest fad and are pretty cheap so you can get a really nice notebook for a fairly reasonable price as long as you shop around a bit.
Dang what the F did you do to your pc.
Don’t abuse it for one thing if you are.
Um I would say open it and clean the fans cause if your pc is getting hot, it’s clog up with dusk. Use it till it breaks and yes get a new one if you have money.
take it to a repair shop or best buy and have them work on it. its cheaper than a new one and it sounds like your processor is just overclocked or your coolant system is broken.
