Computer troubles :) I have a Toshiba mini notebook that is fairly new – approximately 3 months old.?
It has WIndows 7 Starter installed and most things work well. However, I have two problems. The first being that even when i don’t touch the mouse pad, sometimes my cursor goes from the end of the sentence i’m typing to the middle and I have to click back to the end of the sentence and start again. Or, like a second a go, it highlights a section of writing when i’m typing and because i type a letter – it deletes it. It’s really frustrating :( The second problem is that occasionally the screen goes a bit mental. It’s difficult to explain but it’s as if the screen display is on a roller and quickly scrolls from right to left. Think a PDF document when using the scroll bar how it skips through pages but really fast. I can use the scroll bars on the mouse pad and it speeds it up and slows it down but i can’t stop it – have to restart the computer.
Both problems seem to be the mouse pad but not sure why it would make the screen uncooperative?
Just thought of something else that might be helpful – sometimes when i use the mouse pad to move the cursor when an internet page hasn’t loaded completely, it takes me back to the page prior to the loading page….something funky going on! :)

If you think the mouse is responsible for problems, try using another mouse.
Try reinstalling the mouse software & updating the drivers for it
Run a through virus/spyware/malware scan of ALL drives, all programs, all folders, all files NOW
Make sure your virus program is up-to-date & keep it up to date
Make sure Windows 7 is up-to-date & keep it up to date.
Go to Task Manager & check out how many processes are running and/or loaded, you may have to start looking them up & getting rid of the ones that waste CPU power so that certain programs can look for updates every 5 minutes or whatever other BS they do to waste CPU time & resources.
Next time try telling us what WP or web browser(s) you’re having these problems in. Try using a different WP and browser & see if the problems are still there.
Call up Toshiba for help or send them an email, I presume your notebook is still under warranty.
