Okay, so I am going to school – in the Business program at UW as a junior. I just bought a mini netbook to take to school. I was going to buy a desktop when school started, but the one I want will be about 1500 with tax. If I am going to spend money on another computer it’s going to be for the one I want, and not waste it on some other computer and then have to use more money to buy the one I want. Anyways, I can buy the desktop when school starts and pay off part of debt at the beginning of next year OR I can pay off my debt between now and the end of the year and buy a desktop in the spring time. I can get a external cdrom for about used. I wonder if I can manage on a mini netbook until then. Should I wait to pay off my debt and get the computer so I can do school work, or should I do it now?

I don’t know if this makes a difference but my netbook (the only working computer I have) is a Toshiba NB205. I will be commuting by train – 1 hour to school and I only have school 2 days a week. I have about 4,000 dollars of debt on store credit cards and visas. I really want to pay for things in cash not debt, but all my extra money goes to minimum payments so I never have money to buy essentials so I then have to charge it. Once school starts I will have a little more income so I will have a little more free money for those essentials.
I should mention I plan on getting an Apple Desktop. I’ve wanted one for many years, but never had the means. I think all I need is the microsoft office. I think I can use my netbook for 2 quarters before anything else.
